Magazine Scouting Locations for Photo shoots

Locations: La Fitness Bee ridge: This location was too crowded to film at. The gym is always filled with people using the necessary equipment that we needed, and I didn't think it would be professional to have lots of people in the background of the pictures. La Fitness Southgate: After scouting this location I realized it was too open to do the shoot, I would have to walk around a lot and I needed somewhere that had more sense the 'gym' feeling. *Both La Fitness' were too bright for good pictures GrindFit Tamiami Trail: This location was perfect because it is a local gym that had the 'laid back' gym feel and it was empty during our whole shoot. The shots came out great because the lighting wasn't as bright, which complimented the flash photography

Mid Term Submission

Mid Term Magazine Submission Cover Production : I chose the title:  Muscle Magazine  to show readers that this magazine is about muscle, fitness, and health. The target audience this magazine is trying to interest is the average to intermediate gym-goer, and by having a simple name like  Muscle Magazine,  it best attracts that audience. I wanted the title, "Muscle Magazine" the be slightly covered by the person in the picture's head. I learned that this required Photoshop to do, which I had no experience in. Luckily, Aaron, a friend that sat near me, taught me how to make the picture slightly cover the title and then reinsert the picture into the magazine. He also taught me how to format the picture so it sat vertically, instead of horizontally, and I finished up by making that picture fit into the border. I had one universal font for the whole cover page, Haettenschweiler, because I felt this font invites more people to read the magazine over any

Magazine Schedule Interviews and Develop Questions

As I started producing the article "Broad Back", I was thinking about how I would format the pictures and explanations of exercises. I had envisioned the layout in my head already, and I would have to make sure to include an 'interview' with Jon on the first page of the two page article. For the interview, I want to include a quote from him that's either motivational or something related to the back article page because the actual interview would be on 48, which is the 25 anniversary article. The reason I included the quote as an interview, and on the table of contents was because I saw it fit in that category and noticed other magazines do the same. Since I see Jon at la fitness regularly, I figured I would just meet with him and ask him to say something I can use as the quote, and not do an actual interview because I won't be actually producing the whole magazine. The same goes with Sebastian, I won't be asking him about "tips" like it was

Magazine Photoshoot (Schedule Photo shoot)

Magazine Photo Shoot The moment when I decided to go a fitness theme for the magazine, I started thinking about the photo shoot. Who would I want? Where would it be? When would I do it? These are all questions I had in the back of my mind when working on the other magazine parts. When the time came to start planning out the shoot, I was able to do it as smoothly as possible. I checked out a camera twice, the first time I wasn't able to take pictures because I was too busy to workout and didn't try to fit it into my schedule. The next day I posted a picture on social media (Instagram), inviting people out to a photo shoot at my local gym (la fitness). The picture was a screenshot from my notes. I planned the shoot on a Saturday night, and me and three of my friends met at the gym la fitness to start. The shoot was featuring  Jon King, Gavin Goffinet, and Sebastian Gutierrez. Table of Contents Design (Without pictures) Step by step Process... At this point in magazine production I finished my magazine layout and magazine research. The goal for me now is to produce a visually appealing table of contents that effectively lays out the featured articles in the magazine. Magazine Project Research Women's Health

Women's Health *Title- "Women's Health is covered by the women, a format like the previous two magazines. The articles are summarized in bold texts to catch the reader's eye. *Cover- The reader is supposed to focus on the women on the cover to get them to say to themselves they want to look like that and buy the magazine. The use of yellow, blue, and white texts keeps the color scheme simple and easy for the reader to spot the different articles they might be interested in it. Its interesting how the previous 2 magazines also had this 3-colored color scheme. *Page layout- The back of the front page is a full page picture ad, the next page is an article showing tips for self improvement. The next page is the table of contents for the magazine. The contents are simple and easy to read. And the next several pages consist of one page ad, one page article format, showcasing women, as the magazine is women's health. This format is used from page 3 to page to page 43

Magazine Project Research Men's Health

 Men's Health  *Title- Like "Oxygen", the magazine title "Men's Health is covered by Arnold Schwarzenegger's head. The text along the sides is bold and fills a wide portion of the cover. *Cover- The viewer is supposed to see the widely known and influential bodybuilder and competitor- Arnold Schwarzenegger, which would attract people interested in fitness of any age and psycque due to his timelessness. The picture of him was when he was taken in 1977, so the cover is grey but that works well due to the other colors and text colors being grey, white, and red. This color scheme complements the cover page and adds to its attractiveness to the potential buyer. *Page Layout-The first four pages show page sized pictured of products like watches, cars, and men's clothes, which confirms the audience is men. The magazine is also celebrating it's 30th anniversary in this issue, which is shown on pages 5 and 6, there's a page ad for timberland, on the n

Oxygen Magazine *Title- the magazine title "oxygen" is covered by the women's head to show the viewer the full body of the women, making it more visually appealing to the potential buyer. *Cover- The focus of the cover is to show the potential buyer the fit body of the model to 1. show it is a fitness magazine and 2. to get the reader to say "I want to look like that" (female audience). The text on the sides of the cover summarize the articles presented in the magazine. The articles featured in the article are the cliche "new you" fitness workouts and tips, food preparation and guidance, and home based body-weight workouts. The texts are mostly black but some are red, to create focus on those specific articles to attract the buyer. The color scheme as a whole is red, grey, and black. *Page layout-On the first 3 pages there are ads for fitness-related products, then there's the contents, another three pages of ads, the editor's note on page

Magazine Project Research Cooking Light

*The title- "cooking light" is presented in a formal, red old text that's easy to read because nothing is covering it. The cover age also summarizes the articles featured in it along the left hand side of the cover. The magazine has a straightforward approach that is meant to be read easily and clearly. The cover shows a blue background which is different from other issues, changing up their themes, which is a strategy to attract more readers. The foods in the magazine are bright colored, showing that they are good to eat and healthy. *The articles included are recipes for treats and meals the first recipe is shown on page 10. Each recipe is one page and there's one just about on every other page, separated by ads. The recipes stop on page 51 and ads are more frequent, but there's longer (2-3 page) articles about food and other subjects. The magazine's last pages include full page pictures of foods and full page ads. The ads present in the magazine are all
