Magazine Project Genre Research VailValley

1. VailValley

*The title- "Vail" is white and "Valley" is red, probably to make it more visibly appealing to the buyer.
*The cover picture focuses on a waist up shot of a smiling girl who looks like an experienced fisher holding up a brown trout with one hand and a fly fishing rod in the other. This is probably used to attract male buyers as they see the attractive girl, as well as items they are interested in such as fishing. Based on the other ads in the magazine, the target audience would be women in between 20-50 because it shows fashion, shopping, houses, nature, antiques, spas, etc. The ads are bright with color and most sell a peaceful time in buying their services, like gym, camping trips, spas, vacations, and foods. The main article is more toward the end of the magazine and shows the reader women fishing, trying to get them to try it and other outdoor activities. The ads are placed in the front and back of the magazine, and the ads go with or even make the general feel of the magazine because they don't seem like ads, they show nature and peaceful times, which go along with the articles , which actually can be more persuading. Tho photos range from an urban setting of stylish apartments to the appealing openness of outdoors, effectively covering a large range of their audience's interests. All of this stuff along with the vivid colors present in the articles and ads attract the female audience to the magazine. The magazine probably wants the husband to buy it because of the fishing in front, and then hand it off to their wives' after losing interest, which is an interesting strategy I might include in my magazine.
